1918 Densen Works was established on the premises of Hitachi, Ltd. to manufacture wires, cables and copper products
1956 Hitachi Cable, Ltd. was established by spinning off from Hitachi, Ltd.
1964 Shipped 93,000ft of 230kV Pipe Cable for a project in Los Angeles
1965 Began mass production for Oxygen-Free Copper
1966 Received an Export Award (1966, 67, 68, 69, 70) from the Japan's Minister of International Trade and Industry
1969 Developed automotive brake hoses
1973 Developed GaAs compound semiconductor wafer
1973 Began Research and Development of Optical Fibers
1978 Began Research and Development of Fiber-Optic Transceivers
1981 Established Hitachi Cable America
1986 Established Hitachi Cable Manchester
1986 Established Hitachi Cable Indiana
1987 Began construction of Minato Works for mass production of Optical Submarine Cables
1988 Began Research and Development of Guided Wave Optical Components
1995 Shipped 6,800km Optical Submarine Cables for the TPC-5 (Trans Pacific Cable) project
1994 Achieved ISO9001 certification for the main factories
1994 Established Hitachi Cable Queretaro
1994 Developed LOC Lead Frames for 16M DRAM
1994 Achieved ISO14001 certification for the main factories
1996 Launched Hitachi Cable America San Jose office to strengthen marketing activities in the IT industry
1998 Began to provide 8ch optical AWG (Arrayed Waveguide Grading) components for DWDM systems
1998 Began to provide Gigabit Ethernet Solutions
1999 Began mass production for SFF (Small Form Factor) Fiber-Optic Transceivers
2000 Released GMX -Gigabit Ethernet Multiplexer for long distance transport
Began to provide Wide-Ethernet Solutions to Japanese carriers
2000 Established Hitachi Cable Precision and Hitachi Cable UK.
2001 Established J Power Systems, a joint company with Hitachi Cable and Sumitomo Electric Industries, for production of high voltage power cables
2002 Established Hitachi Cable Europe
2002 Established Advanced Cable Systems, a joint company with Hitachi Cable and Corning Cable Systems, for production of fiber optic cables
2003 Reintegrated our Ethernet Switching portfolio in a new brand APRESIA
Developed world's first technology EoE (Ethernet over Ethernet) for large scale Carrier-Ethernet network
2003 Developed GaN compound semiconductor wafer for blue-ray LDs integrated in next-gen DVD systems
2004 Released WirelessIP5000 - SIP based VoIP Wi-Fi phone
2005 Unified management and supervisory functions in Europe and North America by transforming Hitachi Cable America into a holding company and placing Hitachi Cable Europe, Hitachi Cable Manchester, Hitachi Cable Indiana, Hitachi Cable Queretaro and Hitachi Cable UK under Hitachi Cable America.
2006 Released Apresia18020 -Metro Core Carrier Ethernet Chassis Switch with 1.8 Tbps switching capacity
